Nicolas Ishihara helps AI and developer platforms succeed in Japan. He is Interim Country Manager for Japan at Vercel and has led its customer success team for Asia Pacific and Japan since 2024. He lives in Osaka, grew up in Buenos Aires, works in Japanese, English and Spanish, and is a certified professional mahjong player.

Nicolas Ishihara helps AI and developer platforms succeed in Japan. He joined Vercel in 2021 as its first Japanese-speaking customer success manager, became a senior CSM in 2023, has led the customer success team for Asia Pacific and Japan since 2024, and has also been Interim Country Manager for Japan since September 2025.

He grew up in Buenos Aires, where he earned a degree in literary and specialized translation and taught Japanese at the University of Buenos Aires’ language center before moving to Japan. In Osaka he started in customer support at ZenMarket, a cross-border e-commerce platform, went on to direct its multilingual marketing across 12 markets, and then built React, Next.js and TypeScript interfaces for enterprise SaaS as a frontend engineer at Synergy Marketing.

He co-presented a keynote at Qiita Conference 2024 Autumn, has spoken at Vercel Meetup Tokyo and Geodesic Capital’s Developer Lab, and appeared on NHK Special. He still builds websites and tools every week. He has been a certified professional with the Japan Professional Mahjong Association since 2017, and works in Japanese, English and Spanish.
